Aylin was a strong, smart, talented and accomplished woman. An e-galley of xdi novel was sent to me via NetGalley by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Writing style was bit different from what I have read so far, but again I know that it would have been a complete different experience if the book was read in its original language.
This contrasts vastly with the preface of the book giving us a huge build up about a remarkable character. Interesting to glimpse into the Turkish culture.
You will delve deep into the life of a woman that you will find yourself wanting to learn more about. A very interesting, quick paced read. No trivia or quizzes yet. Both ended in divorce but she bore 4 sons from the marriages. Then the turns towards the past and starts with her ancestors and continues to describe her whole life.
If there was something she wanted to accomplish, she went after it! May 29, Fisun rated it really liked it. Ja sam se u jednom trenutku pogubila i u njenim putovanjima Pariz,Istanbul,Lausanne,New York i u muskarcima s kojima je bila okruzena.
Mar 28, Hkncim14 rated it really liked it. It’s a fast, entertaining, somewhat gossipy read with names changed to protect from a libel suit, of course. Paperbackpages. This book is not yet featured on Listopia. I found it difficult to really get into the story and never particularly cared about Aylin herself because of the way her tale was told.
kuin Being the youngest daughter, she got her share of motherly love even from her sister; as expected she set out on a different path than one was defined for her by rules of society.
Easy to read and feel like you witness everything goes on.
Kulin worked as a screen writer, cinematographer and producer for many films, television series and advertisements.
Lists kuulin This Book. She is described as a very good doctor but a very shallow person in real life who is fun to be with but who gets easily bored with people and then moves on to the next man. Writing style was bit different from what I have read so far, but again I know that it would have been a complete different experience if the book was read in its original language.
Dogus rated it liked it Jul 26, Certainly much of the book is set in America which disappointed me as I was hoping to read about Turkey.
Although I do not like the aysw as a novel no depth it still had me mesmerised because it is a real murder case and I have a legal mind. There’s no doubting that she’s a flawed individual, particularly when it comes to money and romance and how they relate which, honestly, I found very understandable agse her background and upbringing, but she’s also a pretty awesome person, and you can understand Ayse Kulin’s determination to ensure that her story is told.
Sevgi Ktk rated it really liked it Apr 03, The prologue, presenting Aylin’s funeral after her mysterious death, is written in an embarrassingly maudlin way; fortunately, the rest of zyse book is a much better read. Ms Kulin does let sentimentality get away with her, particularly in the beginning and end bits, but there’s also a lot of humor to the story, and you get the genuine feeling that something wasn’t right in the way Aylin died.
Aylin is not going to be for everyone.

She has married twice, her latest novels Hayat and Huzun describe her life with her spouses, Mehmet Sarper and Eren Kemahli. I wished I knew – now 20 years after the murder – who had done it. Being the youngest daughter, she got her share of motherly love even from her sister; as expected she set out on a different path than one was defined for her by rules of society.
